Orders & harvesting

From the orchard to dispatch

We organise harvesting and preparation to ship fresh produce while reducing the time between the field and delivery.

When are fresh products harvested?
We organise harvesting as close as practical to dispatch. Where field conditions and availability allow, oranges, lemons and mandarins are harvested near the shipping date to preserve freshness and quality.
When do orders leave?
Shipments normally leave on Tuesday. Orders received by Saturday are generally prepared for the following Tuesday; orders placed from Sunday onward may move to the next week’s dispatch.
Can I change or cancel an order?
If the order has not yet been prepared or handed to the carrier, email ordini@valdiverdura.com as soon as possible. We will try to help, but changes are not guaranteed once preparation has started.
How is my order packed?
We use shipping-grade cardboard boxes prepared to protect the products in transit. The number and size of parcels depend on the products and quantities ordered.
Shipping

Costs, delivery times and tracking

The final shipping charge is always shown in the cart and checkout before payment.

How much is shipping in Italy?
Standard shipping is free in Italy. Locations classified by GLS as remote or disadvantaged areas carry a €25 surcharge per order, shown automatically after the postcode is entered.
Do you ship outside Italy?
Yes, to enabled European Union countries. Cost depends on destination and quantity. Some territories requiring special customs or fiscal procedures are excluded. See Shipping costs.
How long does delivery take?
Delivery generally takes 2–4 business days from dispatch, although islands, remote areas, holidays, weather or carrier delays can affect transit time.
How do I track my parcel?
After the parcel is handed to GLS, tracking information is provided. The code may take a few hours to become active.
What happens if I am not home for delivery?
GLS will apply its redelivery or storage procedures. Please make sure the shipping address, doorbell name and phone number are complete and correct.
Payments

Simple and secure payment

The methods actually available may vary by country, device and payment-provider conditions.

Which payment methods do you accept?
Checkout may offer credit or debit card, PayPal, Klarna and bank transfer, together with other locally enabled methods supported by the payment provider.
Can I pay by bank transfer?
Yes. The order is processed after the funds are credited, normally within 24–48 business hours. See Payment methods.
Can I pay with Klarna?
Yes, when Klarna is available for your order. Eligibility, options and applicable conditions are shown directly by Klarna during checkout.
Is online payment secure?
Online payments are handled by specialist payment providers. Valdiverdura does not directly store complete card details.
Returns & problems

When something goes wrong

Fresh food is subject to specific rules because many products are perishable.

Can I return a product?
It depends on the nature of the goods. Many fresh foods are perishable and may fall within the statutory exclusions from the right of withdrawal under Article 59 of the Italian Consumer Code. See Returns and refunds.
What should I do if the parcel is damaged?
Keep the box and contents and email ordini@valdiverdura.com as soon as possible. Include the order number and photos of the packaging, label and affected products.
What if an item is missing or I receive the wrong product?
Contact us with your order number and a description of the issue. We will verify the case and propose the appropriate solution.
How are refunds made?
Where a refund is due, we normally use the same payment method used for the order unless otherwise agreed. Credit times depend on the payment provider or banking system.
Products & quality

Ribera oranges and Sicilian citrus

Natural agricultural produce can vary slightly in size, colour and appearance from one harvest to another.

Are your oranges grown in Ribera?
Yes. Valdiverdura grows and markets oranges from the Ribera area. Where a product is sold specifically as Arancia di Ribera PDO, it meets the applicable product-specification and certification requirements.
Which varieties are covered by Arancia di Ribera PDO?
The specification includes varieties and clones belonging to Brasiliano, Washington Navel and Navelina. Availability changes during the season.
Is the orange peel edible?
Our oranges are not waxed or treated after harvest. Their peel may therefore be used in cooking after normal washing. Product pages state any product-specific handling information.
Are the products “pesticide-free”?
That would not be an accurate general claim. The correct statement is that the oranges are not treated after harvest. During cultivation, authorised plant-protection products may be used where necessary in compliance with legal requirements and withdrawal periods.
Why can fruit vary in size or appearance?
Fresh agricultural produce naturally varies in size, skin colour and superficial appearance from one harvest to another. These differences do not necessarily indicate a defect or affect internal quality.
